Ecosia – Serene’s Synopsis 35

Ecosia is a search engine that takes ad revenue generated from searches to fund tree-planting projects, planting a tree every 1.3 seconds according to its website. It doesn’t sell personal data to advertisers, and it’s a certified B corporation, meaning that it’s been verified by a third party for its accountability and honesty, and it’s been praised for its efforts to use its money in the most efficient way possible.

Ecosia is climate-conscious in countless ways. 100% of its profits go to climate action projects, and it plants 500 different species of trees in order to build and preserve biodiversity. Ecosia is dedicated to creating jobs in local communities in 35 countries. It’s also determined to be completely transparent: its monthly financial reports are published on its website. Additionally, unlike other search engines, it powers its services using sustainable energy. Ecosia’s solar panels provide it with more than enough energy to power the platform; it’s carbon negative.

Ecosia is an undeniably amazing search engine due to its transparency, honesty, and efficiency. Instead of using the money earned from its users to fill the pockets of the company’s members, it has contributed to planting 60,000 hectares of forest. With no extra cost or hassle, Ecosia is a fantastic way to surf the web and make a positive impact on the planet.

I’ve been using Ecosia for years, and my searches have reportedly funded the planting of 50 trees on my laptop alone. After having used the search engine for a little while and not being entirely certain of its credibility due to how suspiciously perfect it seemed to be, I was delighted by the abundant support I found confirming its claims. Since then, I have urged my friends to use it and have been using it as my primary search engine ever since.

I know I planned on continuing to cover the Willow Project this week, but after some research, I discovered there really wasn’t that much left to cover. I found out about two lawsuits disputing its advancement, but discovered that they were ineffective. Although that’s all I have for now, I’ll keep my eyes open, so stay tuned to learn with me!
